Office Door Redo

March 14, 2013 by SmartGirl 3 Comments

Due to my basement door envy, I installed a 15 lite glass door at the top of the basement stairs.  I convinced my husband it was a good idea to get a second 15 lite door to install in my office (even though I hadn’t painted the first door months after we installed it).  The office is at the end of a dark hallway and there is a big window in the office, so I figured we’d get more light in the hallway with the glass door.Original door on my officeOffice DoorSmart Girls DIYI was right.  But… my office is also our guest room, so people get naked in there and probably don’t want to be seen from down the hall.  I decided to go with the glass door anyway and I added a blind to the back.  Even when it’s down, which is pretty much always,it still lets tons of light into the hall.  Yay!   (Check out this post for tips on how to install!) Hallway door replaced with 15-liteI love the natural blind I installed and, yes, I do realized that I am not naked in my office.  I just still don’t want people (mainly my kids) to see me when I’m in there.  Plus, I throw all sorts of random stuff in there before people come over.  🙂  Professional Organizing 101!

Even better, I love that it’s finished!!

It was a good idea to install that 15 lite door in your office. Thanks for sharing your brilliant thoughts on that office door redo!

I also prefer placing blinds on my office door so that I won’t be easily distracted by anyone. However, there are times that I have to remove them just to make sure I can see through the glass and check my daughter in her room. Well, I’m glad the door is already installed. Enjoy your new office. 🙂
