Smart Jr. Goes to Camp

July 20, 2013 by SmartGirl 2 Comments

My beautiful and talented assistant, Smart Jr., (aka my oldest kid) is home from a week at Camp Mosey Wood in the Poconos.  It’s a Girl Scout sleep away camp.  Here is an article on it.  She had an awesome time and took 409 pictures while she was gone.  On my end, the drive to and from camp sucked and nobody else in the house wanted to make the trek with me.  🙁  But she’s worth it.  Here she is ready to go…

The drive there pretty funny because we had to make several stops on the way.  She needed new water shoes because she was going white water rafting (something I’ve actually never done).  So we had to make a stop at Famous Footwear of course!

We also made a stop at Bed. Bath & Beyond where she chose a lovely chevron print laundry bag.  It matches the curtain in our laundry room, the one I keep meaning to write a post about, but it never seems to happen, yeah, that one.

Next to Target to get a memory card for the point-and-shoot camera I was letting her bring.  Problem: The camera takes the Sony Memory Stick and the only one they had at Target was a 4G for $35.  That was so ridiculous a price for a camera we don’t even use, that I decided to just buy her the family a new camera.  There was a snazzy waterproof one on sale for $109, but of course it was all sold out.  So of course we rushed over to the next closest Target and snagged the last one there.  It’s the Nikon COOLPIX S31 Waterproof Digital Camera and she was very please with it.  That’s an affiliate link, because yeah baby, I finally learned how to do that!  Online they have a whole bunch of colors, but don’t tell her because we got the white.

That was our last interesting stop, so let me just show you some of her pictures…

Thanks so much for this post. We just registered our daughter for a week at Mosey Wood in August. Your pics and post were extremely helpful in confirming that we’ve made a great choice. 🙂

Awesome. I’m glad the pictures helped! My daughter had a great time there. She did end with Lyme Disease a month later, so definitely have your daughter watch out for the ticks!
