How to Make Rudolph Cupcakes

December 28, 2013 by SmartGirl 1 Comment

On the 4th day of Christmas… I’m sharing the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Cupcakes I made for our playgroup Christmas party. There are tons of Christmas cupcakes and desserts out there, but my kids were set on making reindeer cupcakes this year.  And they decided they didn’t want just one Rudolph, they wanted them ALL to be Rudolph. rudolf-easy-christmas-cupcakes

For once in my life I made the cupcakes the night before!  Then I went out with the kiddos a few hours before the party to buy the rest of the ingredients.

How to Make Rudolf Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • chocolate icing
  • mini pretzels (regular shape)
  • edible googly eyes (but they’re not really googly, sold at A.C. Moore and Wal-Mart)
  • vanilla wafers
  • Cherry Sours (or something else red, but if you can find these, get ’em.  They were delicious!)
  • red icing (to hold nose to vanilla wafer)

Ingredients for Rudolph cupcakes

My little helpers did most of the work.  I put a dot of red icing (we had this left over from cookie decorating, I doubt I would’ve gone out and bought it) and they took turns putting on the Cherry Sours.  It was actually really cute.  And I stopped myself from readjusting them.  🙂Rudolph's Red Nose

Then I iced the cupcakes and they stuck on the vanilla wafers and eyes.  Putting googly eyes on cupcakes

The pretzels were the worst part.  I went through a whole bowl trying to get them to break in the right spot.  In the end it really made me laugh how individual each Rudolph was. Rudolph Cupcakes

They were a hit with the kids!

And kept them busy so the mamas could party.  🙂
