How to Make a Girl in a Sleeping Bag SWAP
Supplies:
- Woodsie craft spoons
- doll curls
- foam paper sheets (the ones with a peel-off back like a giant sticker)
- Sharpie markers (fine-point is probably best)
- googly eyes (optional because you can just draw eyes with the markers)
- tacky glue (for attaching hair and eyes)
- safety pins

Directions:
- Pre-cut the sleeping bags into a wide L (meaning I didn’t have the girls do this part).
- Draw a face on the top of the craft spoon.
- Remove the adhesive backing from the INSIDE of the sleeping bag (the wide bottom part of the L) Leave the white backing only on the top area because it will be exposed.
- Place the wooden scoop along the long portion of the L, so the bottom half of the craft spoon is on on the sticky part and the top half of the craft spoon is on the white backing.
- Fold the sleeping bag over and squeeze the two sticky sides together.
- Glue on the googly eyes and hair (or a hat).
- Write the troop # on the back and decorate the front of the sleeping as desired.
- Add a pin
This is what the Girl in a Sleeping Bag SWAP looks like when a 6-year-old makes it. They’re a little thin on hair!
Here is the version my husband and son made…. a policeman in a sleeping bag. The hat was made with scrap pieces of sticky foam paper. Too cute!
If you’re thinking about using this SWAP in the future, be sure to pin it so you can save it for later!
