I have been putting off doing this forever. I keep thinking I’ll wait to “finish” the house, but we all know that’s never going to happen, so I’ve come to terms with showing you what it looks like anyway. Info on paint colors can be found HERE.
Exterior
The first picture is from the MLS listing. I love the doors painted black (first blog post ever) and the stamped concrete is a HUGE improvement. The entire yard has been overhauled as well. The house #s have been updated since that second picture and those chairs are due for some stain this spring.
Entrance and Stairs
The left is what it looked like as soon as we moved in. Instead of replacing the light fixture, which would have been a real pain in the butt because the ceiling is two stories high, I got rid of the class and frame and rigged it to hold a drum shade instead. I also replaced the solid door to the basement with a 15-lite door. The biggest change was tearing out the carpet and re-finishing the stairs. The work is finished but I haven’t written the post yet.
Living Room
What’s that? You want to see what my house looks like if you drop by for a tour unexpectedly. Here you go. The birch wall and metallic side tables are usually such crowd pleasers and I’m hoping you like them so much you don’t notice all the junk everywhere.
Family Room
This room is on the cusp of a major overhaul, starting with the overgrown fireplace. But it’s a wonder what a little paint can do. Red was NOT my color. The TV hasn’t been sitting like that for long, I just wanted to test it out to see if I liked it over there. I do, and that’s one of the reasons I want to tear out the brick behind it. The plan is to mount the TV to the soon-to-be drywalled wall.
Laundry Room
It’s the one room I can actually call complete! Check out the final reveal HERE. It was pretty much a complete overhaul, new floor, wallpaper, plumbing changes, new washer and dryer. I designed and built the surround for the washer/dryer. Same goes for the wall shelves, laundry basket shelf and counter top. It was a good winter project. I just wish it didn’t take 3 winters. Haha.
Chevron Bedroom
This was the first room I painted when we moved in. Smart Jr chose gray and I ended up painting the living room the same color. She recently got a room update (post HERE) which included swapping the ceiling fan for a chandelier, painting a chevron on the wall, and new carpet. She clearly needs a new bed spread as well! She spray painted that side table teal last summer.
More to come…
